Modern Humanist Collective meet 4 times a year to review our plans and goals, and to discuss important Humanist issues. We do not have a joining fee, and we welcome new members to join us. If you would like like to join our Humanist body, please reach out to one of our celebrants and we will add you to our mailing list for newsletters and updates.
2026 Meeting Schedule
We are holding our first Annual General Meeting. At the meeting we will be talking about any changes to our roles and responsibilities within the Collective; our achievements over the past year and our plans and goals for the year ahead.
We will report on any changes to legislation, and current social trends and changes. We will reflect on our values of inclusivity and equity, respect, tolerance and acceptance, and discuss ideas around what we can do to continually learn and grow and truly live our values in all we do.
We will also formally introduce our new chosen charity for 2026 - Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide, and celebrate the success of our fundraising last year for CLAPA - Cleft Lip and Palate Association. We managed to raise a phenomenal £1665.00!
2025 MHC Meeting Schedule
During our inaugural public meeting, we discussed our chosen charity for 2025, the Cleft Lip and Palate Association. We were excited to share our support for the amazing work they do, and celebrant Tegan Elder described her own personal experience of how her family have been supported by this wonderful charity. You can learn more about CLAPA on our MHC Connections page.
We also delved into the theme of International Women's Day, "Accelerate Action," amplifying the call for intersectional gender equality and empowerment. Furthermore, we highlighted the profound connection between humanism and breastfeeding, with celebrant Carol O'Rourke showcasing how breastfeeding can impact the well-being of women and children, as well as significantly reducing our impact on the environment.
Thank you to all who attended.
